Honda's Newest Member: The Honda Navi
I was never a fan of the Honda Navi when it was first announced by Honda. Mainly because I felt like it was just a combination of a Grom and a Ruckus. I didn’t see the point in having something in between the two.
After taking one out for a ride last weekend with a group of friends, I am now officially a fan of these little things. Kind of embarrassing for a grown ass 6’3 195lb man to say, but I don’t care. It is just something so simple and comfortable to ride around in.
I rode it around the crowded ass city of Miami for maybe two hours total and still had a full tank. It was a blast, especially because there were five of us on these mini-motos. It is very light, fuel-efficient, and great for getting around crowded cities.
I know you want to hop on one with me, wrap your arms around my waist, and whisper into my ear, “Please, tell me more.” So squeeze me tight because I’m going to tell you all about the Honda Navi.
The Perfect Middle Child
The Honda Navi is a small motorcycle that is produced by Honda Powersports. It was first introduced to the world in India and Mexico in 2016. They began to sell them in the U.S. in 2022, mainly targeting young urban commuters. It’s not as slow as the Ruckus but not as fast as a grom. The Navi sits right in the middle and is perfect for people who want a simple fun mini motorcycle.
Push To Start, Twist the Throttle, And You’re Off!
The Honda Navi is the perfect mini moto for those who want to ride around the city, take down to the beach on the weekends, or just use as a daily commuter to work. It is as simple as counting to five, twist the key, hold the brake, push the start button, twist the throttle, and you’re off.
The Navi is equipped with an automatic CVT transmission, so you don’t have to worry about shifting through gears. The Honda Navi is a blast to ride! Honda did a great job when designing the Navi.
Honda advertises it as a motorcycle, and you will need a motorcycle endorsement to take it out on the road. The thing looks like a motorcycle but is more similar to a scooter than an actual motorcycle. When taken apart, it looks like a squished Honda Ruckus.
Two People Can Enjoy The Navi At The Same Time
You don’t have to ride the Honda Navi around town all alone. The Honda Navi has a large enough seat and comes standard with foldable rear pegs to accommodate a second person.
Perfect for making a quick run to get something to eat with a friend. You guys won’t be flying down the road but you two will definitely have a smile on your faces.
The Navi isn’t the most powerful mini moto out there, so don’t expect it to perform like it does with one rider. You will definitely notice a huge difference when it comes to ride comfort, braking, and stability. Then again, most of the time, you probably won’t be traveling long distances in a Navi anyways.
A Fuel Tank The Size Of A Milk Jug?!?!
What really sucks about the Honda Navi is that it has a fuel capacity of .9 gallons.
“Not even a gallon. Are you serious?”
Yes, very serious…
Yes, the fuel capacity sits under a gallon, but this bad boy gets 110 miles on a full tank. You won’t be spending more than 5 dollars every month to fill it up if that.
Some people get turned off by the small tank, but it will literally go ⅓ of the distance that your everyday car goes before it is empty. Another funny thing is that the main storage compartment is bigger than the actual tank.
No Need To Carry A Backpack
Moving on from the small fuel tank. The Honda Navi has quite enough storage space to store everything you carry in your backpack. It is a 4-gallon storage compartment that is located underneath the gas tank.
At four times bigger than the fuel tank, it is large enough to store a small laptop and probably even a small helmet as well. The box is completely waterproof and has a key lock to keep your items safe.
Cheapest Street Legal Honda
What really amazes me is the price of the Honda Navi. At the moment this article was written, the price sits at $1,807. This is insane because it is the cheapest street legal Honda you can get your hands on!
Then when you take into account insurance, gas, and other small maintenance expenses, you will probably spend less than 30 bucks a month once fully paid for. That’s around the same price people pay for a few streaming services.
The Honda Navi is perfect if you want a cheap, fun little ride to commute short distances or just to F around in. It is a low price to pay for a brand new reliable, and comfortable Honda.
Simplicity Always Wins
Everyone loves the Honda Ruckus because of how reliable and simple it is. The Honda Navi is just as simple and just as reliable. It is a mini moto that will always start right up.
That’s if you take care of it, of course. The Navi will not leave you stranded if you stay on top of your oil changes, brakes, air filter, and sparkplug. It does not take a highly skilled person to work on this bike.
You just need to have some basic tools, watch a couple of Youtube videos, and you will be able to work on this bike. It’s what I love about Honda; they keep everything simple and always make their products easy to own.
